Terms And Condition

Welcome to Leon Taekwondo Academy! We are excited to have you join our martial arts training programme. Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before enrolling.

1. Full Uniform and Belt

1. All students are required to wear a complete Taekwondo uniform (dobok) and the appropriate belt during training sessions.
2. The uniform and belt must be clean, in good condition, and worn properly.

2. Punctuality

1. Students are expected to arrive on time for all classes and activities.
2. Latecomers may be asked to wait until an appropriate time to join the class.

3. Respect

1. Respect towards instructors, staff, fellow students, and the training environment is paramount.
2. Students must follow all instructions provided by the instructors and adhere to the code of conduct at all times.

4. Continuous Enrolment

1. To maintain their place at the academy, students are required to continue making payments in accordance with their agreed membership terms, even if they are unable to attend classes.
2. Failure to meet payment obligations may result in the loss of a student’s place at the academy.

5. Cancellation Policy

1. Cancellation of membership must be requested at least one month in advance, subject to the applicable membership agreement and any legal rights that may apply.
2. Any refund entitlement will be determined in accordance with the applicable membership terms and conditions and relevant consumer protection law.
3. Written notice of cancellation is required and must be submitted by email or formal letter to the academy.

6. Code of Conduct

1. Students must follow the academy’s code of conduct, which includes maintaining discipline, practising good sportsmanship, and refraining from any behaviour that may endanger themselves or others.
2. Any violation of the code of conduct may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent expulsion from the academy, where appropriate.

7. Health and Safety

1. Students, or their parents or guardians where applicable, must inform the academy of any relevant medical conditions or injuries that may affect safe participation in training activities.
2. Students must follow the instructor’s safety guidance and use appropriate protective equipment as instructed.

8. Personal Belongings

1. Students are advised to keep their personal belongings secure at all times.
2. Leon Taekwondo Academy cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

1. Leon Taekwondo Academy may update these terms and conditions from time to time where necessary.
2. Any changes will be communicated to students in a timely manner. Where required, reasonable notice will be given before changes take effect.

10. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

By enrolling in Leon Taekwondo Academy, students, or their parents or guardians where applicable, acknowledge that they have read and agree to the applicable terms and conditions. Failure to comply with these terms may result in appropriate disciplinary action or termination of membership in accordance with the applicable agreement and relevant law.

12. Pricing, Payments and Academy Closure Periods

12.1 Monthly Payments

1. Membership fees must be paid in accordance with the agreed payment schedule and applicable membership terms.
2. Monthly direct debit payments are calculated on the basis of 48 weeks of training per year, with the annual fee spread evenly across 12 monthly payments.
3. Students are therefore required to maintain their agreed monthly payments throughout the year, including during the academy’s scheduled closure periods. These closure periods have already been taken into account when calculating the annual membership fee.
4. Failure to make payments when due may result in appropriate action in accordance with the applicable membership agreement and relevant law.

12.2 Academy Closure Periods

Leon Taekwondo Academy is normally closed during the following periods:

• Summer Closure: 10 August to 2 September.
• Christmas Closure: 23 December to 3 January.

No regular classes will be held during these scheduled closure periods. The annual membership fee is calculated on the basis of 48 weeks of training, with payments spread evenly over 12 months. Students should therefore continue their normal monthly payments during these periods rather than cancelling or suspending their direct debit solely because the academy is closed.

12.3 Previous Prices, Discounts and Special Offers

1. Leon Taekwondo Academy may offer different membership prices, promotional rates, discounts, or special packages from time to time. The price and conditions applicable to a student’s membership will depend on the package agreed when that membership began, subject to its terms and any subsequent agreed changes.
2. If a student cancels or terminates their membership and subsequently wishes to rejoin the academy, the student will be treated as a returning member and will be required to enrol under the membership packages, prices, and terms available on the academy’s official website at the time of rejoining.
3. Any previous discounted rate, introductory offer, promotional price, or legacy membership package will not automatically be reinstated when a former student rejoins, unless Leon Taekwondo Academy expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
4. The applicable price for a returning member will be the current published price for the selected membership package at the time of rejoining, together with any applicable terms and conditions.
